Your Show Name Here
START DATE - END DATE
This is where you can put a cute description for your show! Using this show template is also very easy. Just check each section very carefully to ensure it's completely filled out. Most of the sections are not complete, and are only there as a general guideline.
To host a show, just copy and paste this template (or make your own!), make sure start and end date and everything is specified, and double check all the information before posting!
You may hire multiple judges, just make sure that no judges are judging their own classes. Show hosts are encouraged to not enter their own show.
For the following sections, there may be parts you want to change. That's totally fine! This is just a very general guideline with the rules and regulations that most people use in their shows. You can change all information, just make sure that it remains fair and consistent.
Rules and Guidelines
- No reserving posts! Please only post with your full entry, ready to be judged!
- No random chatter in the show thread! Direct your talking about the show to the show's chatter thread.
- Classes must have at least 5 entrants for points to be awarded. If you have multiple edited/unedited classes, you can merge them to have more entrants scored against each other. If your scorecard is different for edited/unedited classes, either change the scorecard so they have the same elements scored, or don't merge them together, in the interest of fairness.
- Each member may enter up to ____ horses. Riders may ride up to ____ horses.
- Each horse may only enter one class.
- Entries must be complete by the judging date or they will be disqualified or deducted points. Entries after the deadline will not be judged.
- You must take photos specifically for this show. You may not reuse photos.
Image Requirements
Put requirements for the images here. Specify whether or not you're allowing bonus photos, and also specify which photos are necessary. Some example requirements are below. (For example, 3 photos are required, one bonus photo may be added for up to 5 points)
- Photos must be taken in good lighting! You can either take them during the day or in a well-lit arena at night.
- Picture-in-picture is not allowed.
- Seasonal/weather requirements will go here.
Course Information
If you provided a course for your show, link it here. If not, specify the requirements for the arenas to be used in the show. Remember to specify things like footing, jump heights, decorations, arena size, whatever you'll be judging on. If you provide an arena, make sure to link to it, link to any CC that may be required, and any other information needed.
Some show hosts like to specify a world, season and lot where the course should be. This can be fun and really add a community feeling to the show, but should not be required, because not all members have the right expansion packs for all the worlds.
Class Information
Put all your information about classes here. It is highly recommended that you have two separate classes for editing and non-editing, unless you have a rule against editing, or don't judge editing. Members should not be penalized for choosing not to edit their entries. Generally, editing classes are anything goes, while non-editing classes stick to simple color correction, rein edits, etc. Sometimes, non-editing classes allow all editing, but the editing isn't judged.
Classes can either just simply be editing/non editing, or you can specify certain levels (such as beginner novice level in eventing, and then an advanced level class in eventing). If you do have different levels, please specify things like jump heights and allowed movements.
CLASS NAME
Specify editing/non editing and other requirements for the class.

Turnout Information
This is where you'll put the rules for your turnout. Make sure to be very specific on what is and isn't allowed. If you don't have specific turnout rules, make sure to specify this as well!
Horse Turnout
Specify what the horse is able to wear in the show. Be specific about things like saddles, bridles, bits, martingales, breast collars, leg protection, etc. Remember to not only say what kind of tack is allowed, but also what color.
Mane and tail styles should also be specified, such as if manes must be braided, or if tails can be left loose.
Rider Turnout
Specify what the rider will be wearing in the show. Make sure to mention things like helmets, how the hair is worn, what shirts the rider can wear, jackets, breeches, gloves, boots, etc. Also specify the colors allowed. Spurs, whips, and other accessories used for controlling the horse should be specified as well.
Judging Information
List the judges here so people can ask them questions! If you can, also specify which classes they will be judging. The class scorecards should be changed to reflect the discipline that you're scoring.
Base Scorecard
The base scorecard is the categories of judging that will apply to pretty much every show, class, and level. This is just a suggested scorecard only. You may change it, as long as it's consistent.
Creativity (x out of 10): Applies to everything in the photo, from the composition, to the background, to the turnout of the horse and rider, to the attention to detail and everything in between. This score is not affected by editing.
Realism (x out of 10): This score encompasses the realism of the photo. Horses and riders clipping, floating poses, unrealistic tack and equipment etc. are all judged in this category. Make sure that all your tack is in order and your poses are anatomically correct!
Editing (x out of 10): This score only applies to editing classes. Unedited classes will have 10 points less in their final score. This score encompasses the quality of the editing.
Class Scorecard
Form (x out of 10): Form applies to the horse and the rider and their ability to complete their task effectively. Depending on the discipline, form may not be explicitly judged, like in show jumping. But in some disciplines, like dressage, form is paramount.
Luck (x out of 10): Even the best horse can have its bad day! Luck acts as an equalizer between all the horses, simulating the random mistakes that happen in all shows, like the enthusiastic spectator, the scary decorations, or the loud noises.
Turnout (x out of 10): Turnout is important in all competitions, for both safety reasons and out of respect for the rules, judges, and to your fellow competitors. Small turnout mistakes will only result in a few points being deducted, while major mistakes will heavily impact your score.
